Played at Mikes's place. SMAKIP. We gather at the Russian Gaming Basement where we sample some delicious torte. A delightful concoction made of waffles and condensed milk and almonds, lovingly baked for hours according to a traditional Russian recipe. It is pleasantly sweet without being overbearing. A total success.

Played at Stephan's place. MISP. Kevin is absent this week, and yet it's all about him: it's his birthday Friday, and he three-peats as Man of the Month (so what that he had to share the limelight with co-winners on two of those months ...). Good job Kevin, and Happy Birthday!

Scythe Ian Stewart You'd think the experienced players (well, one game last week) would have figured out a winning strategy, but no, it's newbie Ian who wins with Poland and six stars.
Tsuro Ian Stewart, Stephan Reebs Mutual destruction with three squares left. We haven't seen a lot of Ian lately, but tonight he makes it count.
