Deception: Murder in Hong Kong Alain Haché, Ian Stewart, Kevin Caron, Mike Gerdov, Pascal Werlberger, Stephan Reebs We try Deception for the first time. The games are short and we play many of them. We conclude that with 6 players, the investigators have an easy task unless there is an accomplice to help the murderer. Points to everybody!
Perudo Pascal Werlberger Pascal eliminates all of his right hand side neighbours, in order no less, and wins with three dice left.
Category 5 Mike Gerdov Pascal goes out after 4 rounds, leaving Mike in control with 41 points.

Played at Alan's place. PAKIM. Mike recounts his Bonaire diving trip as the uncultured members meet at Alain's place while Stephan is at the Capitol Theatre.

Mysterium Alain Haché, Ian Stewart, Kevin Caron, Mike Gerdov, Pascal Werlberger Two games were played, unsuccessfully at first with Alain as clue giver, then a win with Mike at the helms, just barely, with paper boats and cut trees matched to a typewriter.

1

Played at Stephan's place. PASI. We take advantage of being only four players to introduce La Isla. It is on the list of Top Ten Games featuring Islands, and yet it has never been played. That's not right.

La Isla Stephan Reebs Stephan gets a good combo of A cards and wins the inaugural game with 65 points. Alain was only one resource cube away from scoring more than 70 points.
Blokus Pascal Werlberger Pascal places all of his pieces, the last one being a straight four-squares.
Tsuro Ian Stewart, Pascal Werlberger Alain must leave, and the rest of us have time for a game of paths. Ian and Pascal die together on a corner tile, with two other tiles remaining in another corner.

3

Played at Stephan's place. CSIMP. Thanks Irina for the Russian cake to celebrate Mike's birthday! And happy holidays to Irina and Mike, who are going diving at Bonaire Island.

Beowulf: the Legend Ian Stewart Ian wins the bidding fest with 20 points, and the rest of the field is close behind: Carlo (19), Stephan (17), Mike (16) and much-bloodied Pascal (15).

Played at Stephan's place. SKIMP. Happy Birthday Mike! (Technically, the day after tomorrow.)

Notes

Cockroach Poker Royal Ian Stewart The inaugural game. Normally, one player goes out and is the loser while all the others win, but we institute a house rule that there should be only one winner: the player with the fewest cards when the first person goes out. This rule sees Ian win the first game, with only three cards, after Kevin runs out of cards.
Cryptid Mike Gerdov Mike is the only player who guesses almost perfectly all the others' rules, and he cashes in. He attributes his superior intellectual performance to having avoided eating chips this week. Pfff, some birthday spirit!
Trans Europa Pascal Werlberger Stephan and Ian go out after three rounds, and Pascal's success on the last round is enough to steal the win from Kevin and Mike, who were tied for the lead before that.
