Played at Stephan's place. PASI. We take advantage of being only four players to introduce La Isla. It is on the list of Top Ten Games featuring Islands, and yet it has never been played. That's not right.

La Isla Stephan Reebs Stephan gets a good combo of A cards and wins the inaugural game with 65 points. Alain was only one resource cube away from scoring more than 70 points.
Blokus Pascal Werlberger Pascal places all of his pieces, the last one being a straight four-squares.
Tsuro Ian Stewart, Pascal Werlberger Alain must leave, and the rest of us have time for a game of paths. Ian and Pascal die together on a corner tile, with two other tiles remaining in another corner.

Cockroach Poker Royal Ian Stewart The inaugural game. Normally, one player goes out and is the loser while all the others win, but we institute a house rule that there should be only one winner: the player with the fewest cards when the first person goes out. This rule sees Ian win the first game, with only three cards, after Kevin runs out of cards.
Cryptid Mike Gerdov Mike is the only player who guesses almost perfectly all the others' rules, and he cashes in. He attributes his superior intellectual performance to having avoided eating chips this week. Pfff, some birthday spirit!
Trans Europa Pascal Werlberger Stephan and Ian go out after three rounds, and Pascal's success on the last round is enough to steal the win from Kevin and Mike, who were tied for the lead before that.

Evolution Stephan Reebs Stephan finds the right combos and wins with 44 points, just 3 more than Pascal. Ian tries a carnivore, but once again the meat-eating strategy does not pan out. We are yet to see a carnivore win in this game.
Category 5 Pascal Werlberger Pascal leads from beginning to end but wins by only 1 point, 49 to Stephan's 50.

Played at Stephan's place. PAMS. Mike has met a guy who has heard about the HFG as this mysterious and secretive gaming group for elite players. Tried to find us on the internet and couldn't. The Gerdov server is well hidden!

Viticulture Pascal Werlberger Inaugural game. Pascal suddenly takes off in the last two rounds, during which he scores about half the points needed to reach the winning 20-point mark, leaving the rest of the pack in the dust (especially Stephan with his meager 2 points).
