A total of 53 events is possible because we started the year on a Wednesday (June 1st, 2022) and ended it on a Wednesday (May 31st, 2023) and did not skip a single week, even at Christmas.
Having played fewer games in total is understandable, given that sometimes our interesting conversations extend beyond 8 pm.
