Played at Stephan's place. After a one-week hiatus because of some gool ol' Canadian weather, the gang (minus Kevin and Pascal) resume activities. We catch up with so much chit-chat that we end up playing only one game.

Thurn and Taxis Mike Gerdov At first we think that Mike and Alain are tied at 21 points, but Mike discovers a forgotten point, and voilà! Not bad for a first-timer at this game.

I am struck by the recent successes of first-timers (first Alain at Splendor, and now Mike at Thurn & Taxis). One might say this is a sign that those games rely more on luck than on finely honed skills, but I'd rather think it reflects superior intellects.
